San Jose, Costa Rica, Republica de Costa Rica, 50 colones remainder, no date (1917), serial 00013, PMG Gem UNC 65 EPQ, finest and only example in PMG census, very rare.SCWPM-150 (unlisted as a remainder).As with the prior lot, this is the first reported appearance of this 50 colones silver certificate remainder, which features a low serial number 13 along with blank date and signature lines. Costa Rica is known for colorful bank notes and this design is no exception with the Columbus vignette on the front shown against brown, green, and purple undertones; the tan reverse features the Costa Rican coat of arms. Well centered design with excellent paper quality and color, especially deserving of the EPQ designation.
