Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, (16)44T, rare.S-P30; KM-19a; Cal-1472.27.25 grams.Exceptional grade (non-toned AU) with choice full shield and cross (peripherally doubled), full assayer T and penultimate digit 4 of date (the other 4 visible as just a sharp point to the right), several small edge-splits. It is interesting to note that this date marks a subtle improvement over the very crude issues of the early 1640s; some experts believe this improvement coincides with the return of assayer T (Tapia) in this year.
