Maria I 640 Reis 1795-(L) AU53 NGC, Lisbon mint, KM222.3, LMB-368. High Crown type. Quite conditionally scarce, and previously unseen in so fine a state of certified preservation. The offering exhibits a gentle blanket of metallic coloration, under which argent luster gleams alluringly, confirming the near-Mint State grade assigned by NGC. For comparison, the next-finest (and only other example) seen by that service is graded XF40.
