João Prince Regent 80 Reis 1814-R AU50 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM305, LMB-403. Mintage: 385. The second-lowest mintage date in this only three-year series, and by far the nicest that has emerged on the market in decades--the Paulistana specimen being around Fine condition with excessive surface pitting, while the Guariba specimen, perhaps of similar striking quality, was struck mildly off-center. As such, a clear target for the condition-minded collector, and the finest example yet certified.
