Pedro II 400 Reis 1834 MS63 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM453, LMB-536. An exquisite presentation for this inaugural date in the series, presently unsurpassed within the NGC census alongside two other pieces as the finest certified. While technically among the more "common" dates for the type, such can hardly be said for a specimen in this elite quality--the Whittier piece only grading an AU58, while an example of the date was altogether missing from the Paulistana Collection. Simply exquisite as such, with a soft golden tone overlaid on icy surfaces.
