Great Britain
Victoria gold "Shield "Sovereign 1874 AU53 NGC, Royal mint, KM752, S-3853B, Marsh-58 (R4). Die #32. The last date of issue for the London shield and die number type, this exceptional offering is one of the great rarities of the British milled Sovereign series. Slight flattening to Victoria's cheek and hair has assigned its certification, but this minimal detraction has failed to obscure the rich orange-yellow luster of the peripherals, nor the fine engraving of Victoria's portrait, unmarred by any significant bag marks. This scarce survivor, one of very few known, speaks of very limited circulation before being saved by a collector in antiquity; now it is your turn to save it once more.
