SUYAB: Anonymous, 7/8th century, AE cash (3.22g), Kam-20, cf. Zeno-82182, bust ¾ left, with long earrings, Sogdian bgy (vaghi) "lord" to left and prn (farn) "glory" to right, two small casting holes, VF, RR. Suyab was a quasi-independent city within the Semirech'e territories and a one-time military outpost of the Tang Dynasty. The great Chinese poet, Li Bai (Li Po), was born in 701 in the city according to many accounts.
