The Provisional Government of Azad Hind (Free India) was set up in Singapore during WWII by Subhash Chandra Bose, with support from Japan. This independence movement was led by Indian nationalists-in-exile who allied with Axis powers to free India from British colonial rule. Its members fought alongside the Japanese against the Allies, including British Indian units.
