Very Fine; toned; roughness and deposits, along with breaks in silver plating, exposing the base metal core; excellent style; extremely large flan. Dramatic and fascinating piece.

A fourrée is an ancient plated counterfeit struck with a base metal core and plated with the precious metal to make it look like the actual coin. They are fascinating, uncommon, and collectible in their own right. This is a rare and unusual example.
