1) Pontos, Amisos Æ 20mm. Time of Mithradates VI, circa 105-85 BC. Aegis with Gorgoneion / [ΑΜΙ]-ΣΟΥ, Nike advancing to right, holding palm branch, monogram to right. SNG BM Black Sea 1185; BMC 72; HGC 7, 242 var. (no monogram to left). 6.41g, 20mm, 12h.

The crude style of the lettering and the retrograde letters in the reverse inscription suggest this example may be a contemporary imitation.

6) Caracalla Æ 27mm of Nicopolis, Moesia Inferior. AD 198-201. C. Ovinius Tertullus, consular legate. AYK M AVP ANTΩNINOC, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust to right / VΠΛ OOY TЄPTVΛΛOV NIKOΠOΛIT ΠPOC I, eagle standing facing on thunderbolt, wings spread, head facing right and holding wreath in beak.
