THRACE. Sestos. Circa 300 BC. Obol (Silver, 11 mm, 0.86 g, 3 h). Draped (?) bust of Hermes to right, wearing petasos; on shoulder, winged caduceus. Rev. Kithara. Seemingly unpublished. Light porosity, otherwise, nearly very fine.
Without any identifying legend, the attribution to Sestos is uncertain. The combination of Hermes with a kithara or lyre is not common, but is prevalent on the coinage of Sestos.
