A Kshatrapa (Saka) ruler of Gujarat, Malwa and northern Konkan, Nahapana had a lengthy reign of 46 years. Although the Kshatrapas are considered to be Indo-Scythians, Nahapana may have had an some Indo-Parthian connection himself. He was killed along with his entire family by Gautamiputra Satakarni, but his descendants continued to rule for another 300 years, until Chandragupta II Vikramaditya defeated them in c. 400.
