ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ Apollo standing facing, head left, holding patera over altar in right hand and branch in left. Moushmov, Philippopolis -. RPC IV.1 Online temp. -. Varbanov 807. Same obverse die as Gorny & Mosch 134, 2004, 1862. Varbanov, Philippopolis, VII.9.4.2.1-3 (this obverse die) & VII.9.5.2.1 (this reverse die). Extremely rare - perhaps one of just two known, the other being the the Gorny & Mosch specimen with which it shares its obverse die. Of fine style and with a dark green patina. Surfaces a little rough, light cleaning marks, otherwise, good very fine.
