LUCANIA. Metapontum. Circa 330-290 BC. Nomos (Silver, 20 mm, 7.20 g, 12 h), struck under the magistrate Da.... Head of Demeter to left, wearing grain wreath, triple pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. ΜΕΤΑ Ear of barley with leaf to left; above leaf, rake with a long handle and curved tines; below leaf, ΔΑ. HN III 1582. Johnston Class C, 5.18. Strong obverse strike. Minor roughness and minor striking weakness on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
