MACEDON. Thessalonica. Marc Antony and Octavian, 37 BC. Diassarion (Bronze, 30 mm, 37.72 g, 12 h). ΘΕΣΣΑΛΟΝΙΚΕΩΝ ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΙΑΣ Draped bust of Eleutheria (Freedom) to right. Rev. Μ ΑΝΤ ΑΥΤ Γ ΚΑΙ ΑΥΤ Nike advancing to left holding wreath and palm branch. RPC I 1551. An impressive and very heavy example with a red-green-brown patina. Some striking flatness, otherwise, very fine.
