LYCIA, Lycian League. Masicytes. Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Drachm (Silver, 17.5 mm, 2.92 g, 12 h), c. 27-19/8. Λ - Υ Bare head of Augustus to right. Rev. Μ/Α Two lyres; in field to left, aplustre. BMC 37. RPC I 3309. SNG von Aulock 4351. Troxell, Lycian 116.2 (same obverse die). The weight of this piece, which is definitely low, may indicate that it is plated. It does, however, seem to be struck with an official obverse die. Very fine.
