CYPRUS. Koinon of Cyprus. Diva Faustina Senior, with Galerius Antoninus, Faustina died in 140/1, while Galerius must have died prior to 138. As (Bronze, 28 mm, 9.53 g, 1 h), probably minted in Rome for use in Cyprus. ΘEΑ ΦΑΥCΤEΙΝΑ Diademed and draped bust of Faustina Senior to right. Rev. Μ ΓΑΛEΡΙΟC ΑΝΤωΝΙΝΟC ΑΥΤΟΚΡΑΤΟΡΟC ΑΝΤωΝΙΝΟΥ ΥΙΟC Bareheaded and draped bust of Galerius Antoninus to right. Cf. Parks 22 (sestertius). RPC IV.3 Online temp. 3006. Rare depiction of Galerius Antoninus. Rough greenish-brown patina, smoothing in fields, otherwise, nearly very fine.
Since the young Galerius is given neither the title of Caesar nor Divus, it is certain that he must have died prior to his father Pius's elevation to the Caesarship in 138.
