ANGLO-SAXON, Kings of All England. Edward the Confessor. 1042-1066. AR Penny (18mm, 1.31 g, 11h). Pyramids (BMC xva, Hild. I) type. Tamworth mint; Bruning, moneyer. Struck circa 1065-1066. Crowned bust right; scepter to right / + BRVNING ON TΛM, voided cross with annulet in center; pyramid in quarters. Cf. Danson 68/67 (for obv./rev. types); cf. Freeman 19A (for rev.); SCBI –; North 831; SCBC 1184. Toned. Near VF/VF. Very rare.
