Marcus Aurelius. AD 161-180. Æ Medallion (36.5mm, 46.01 g, 11h). Rome mint. Struck AD 174-175. M ANTONINVS AVG TR P XXIX, laureate and cuirassed bust right, with the breastplate adorned with the head of Medusa / IMP VII COS III, Victory seated right on on pile of shields, holding palm frond in right hand and shield in left, resting on her knees, inscribed V[IC]/ A[VG] in two lines; a trophy to right. Gnecchi II, p. 28, 14; MIR 18, 1063-1/36; Banti 156. Dark green patina, some scratches and smoothing in fields, patch of roughness on obverse. Near VF. Rare.
