NAPOLEON EMP · ET ROI., laureate head right; ANDRIEU [F] · on truncation of neck / Fortune, seen from behind, standing right on departing vessel with no one at tiller, looking left at broken wheel in sky; BRENET F · to left, DENON · D · to right; FORTUNE ADVERSE/MARS MDCCCXIV in two lines in exergue. Cf. Bramsen 1365. Red-brown surfaces, light rub on high points. EF. Struck on a cast flan in the manner of an ancient Roman sestertius or medallion.
