Dracm signed by Euainetos circa 405, AR 3.65 g. KATANAIΩ[N] Fast quadriga driven r. by charioteer, holding kentron and reins; above, Nike flying l. to crown him. Rev. Diademed head of river-god Amenanos l.; at either side, two fish and below chin, crayfish. Above, AMENANO and beneath neck truncation, EYAI. Rizzo pl. XIV, 7. Mirone 72 (these dies). SNG Lloyd 907. Very rare. A portrait of magnificent style, the work of a celebrated and talented
master-engraver. Wonderful old cabinet tone, obverse from a worn
die, otherwise very fine /good very fine
