Dracm signed by Euainetos circa 405, AR 3.65 g. KATANAIΩ[N] Fast quadriga driven r. by charioteer, holding kentron and reins; above, Nike flying l. to crown him. Rev. Diademed head of river-god Amenanos l.; at either side, two fish and below chin, crayfish. Above, AMENANO and beneath neck truncation, EYAI. Rizzo pl. XIV, 7. Mirone 72 (these dies). SNG Lloyd 907. AMB 335 (this obverse die).
Very rare. A portrait of magnificent style, the work of a celebrated and talented
master-engraver. Wonderful old cabinet tone, obverse from a worn
die, otherwise very fine /good very fine
