PLANTAGENET. Edward III. 1327-1377. AR Groat (26mm, 4.22 g, 2h). Fourth coinage, Pre-treaty period, series D. London (Tower) mint. Struck 1352-1353. Crowned facing bust, with trefoil on breast; all within tressure of arches with trefoils at cusps / Long cross pattée; trefoils in quarters, additional annulet in fourth quarter. North 1152; SCBC 1566. Toned, light scratches, slightly wavy flan, edge split. Fine.
