LOWER DANUBE. Uncertain tribe. 3rd to 2nd centuries BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 15.68 g, 1 h), imitating Philip III of Macedon. Convex surface with irregular lines near the edge. Rev. ΙΛΙΛΙΠΠΙΠΙΛΙΠ Celticized Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, monogram; below throne, Z. Dembski 1483. Flesche 744. Lanz 932. OTA 579/14. Beautifully toned. Minor areas of weakness, otherwise, very fine.
