INDO-SKYTHIANS, Western Satraps. Nahapana, circa 53-99. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 2.22 g). PANNIW ΣΑHAPATAC NAHAPANAC ('Rannio Saharatas Nahapanas' in Greek) Head of Nahapana to right. Rev. RaJno KsaHaRaTaSa NaPaNaSa (in Brahmi on the left) and RaNo KsaHaRaTaSa NaHaPaNaSa (in Kharoshti on the right) Stylized thunderbolt and arrow. Fishman Type 3.1. A beautifully toned example. Light scratches and with traces of overstriking, otherwise, good very fine.


Nahapana, son of Bhumaka, was arguably the greatest ruler of all the Western Satraps. He ruled over Gujarat, Malwa and the northern Konkan.
