ASIA MINOR. Uncertain. 2nd-3rd centuries. Amulet (Lead, 17 mm, 2.13 g, 12 h). Head of Serapis to right. Rev. ΦVΛΑ/ΖΑΙ ("protect me") in two lines. Apparently unpublished. For a very similar pendant, see Rostovtsev & Prou, 820b and plate XII, fig. 11 (reverse legend ΦVΛ/ΑΞE). An extremely rare amulet invoking the god Serapis for personal protection. Loop broken off, otherwise, very fine.
From a collection of lead tesserae from Asia Minor.
