Divus Augustus, died AD 14. Dupondius (Orichalcum, 28 mm, 11.44 g), Rome, struck under Tiberius, circa 34-37. DIVVS AVGVSTVS PATER Radiate head of Divus Augustus to left. Rev. S - C Eagle standing facing on globe, head to right and wings spread. BMC 155. Cohen 247. RIC 82. Attractive green patina. The obverse a bit weak and the reverse slightly rough, otherwise, good very fine.


From an old Swiss collection, privately acquired from Leu Numismatik in the late 1970s or early 1980s (with original dealer's ticket).
