Uncertain, 6th century. Seal (Lead, 15 mm, 3.06 g). Diademed and bearded male head to left. Rev. Monogram containing ૪, C, Δ, Ⲱ and an uncertain letter. Cf. Zacos & Veglery 1383 (for a small 6th century seal signed by a person named Menas, with a diademed and draped bust to right, possibly imperial) and Zacos & Veglery 1378A (with a facing bust of a dignitary (city prefect)). An intriguing early Byzantine seal with a portrait of fine style. Very fine.
