Nikephoros, imperial spatharokandidatos and asekretis, 9th century. Seal (Lead, 21 mm, 8.24 g, 11 h). KЄ ROHΘ' TⲰ CⲰ Δ૪Λ, Cross on steps, within pearled circle. Rev. +[N]HKI/ΦOPⲰ R'CΠ/AΘ'KANΔ' S / XAPT... S / AC[H]... in five lines. Unpublished in the standard references. A very attractive and well preserved piece. Some breakage on the channel on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
