Gregorios St...nites, magistros, vestes and domestikos of the regiments, circa 11th century. Seal (Lead, 25 mm, 13.82 g, 12 h). Nimbate facing bust of St. Michael, holding trefoil scepter in his right hand and globe in his left; on the right side of the nimbus, MIXAHΛ. Rev. [Γ]PHΓⲰP/H MAΓICTPO / RECT S ΔOMЄCTH/[...] T[Ⲱ]N CX, O CT/...NIT+ in five lines. Unpublished in the standard references. A beautiful representation of Michael on the seal of a Byzantine general. Some minor marks and flatness, otherwise, extremely fine.
