Report on Counterfeits of French Revolutionary Assignats

Paris: L'Imprimerie de la veuve Delaguette, 1793. 8vo, self-covered as issued; unstitched. Ink stamp of E. Dewamin on each leaf, with some underlining; light staining. Good or better. Rare and important, being an original document printed by the French Revolutionary government concerning counterfeits of the paper money (assignats) issued by that government. Deperey provides eight precise laws to guide the detection of counterfeit assignats, most of which involve direct comparison of probably good notes with suspected false ones.
