Sharp First Edition, First Printing Red Book
Yeoman, R.S. A GUIDE BOOK OF UNITED STATES COINS. CATALOG AND PRICE LIST-1616 TO DATE... First (1947) edition, first printing. Racine: Whitman, 1946. 12mo, original red cloth, gilt. 254, (2) pages; text illustrations. Minor rubbing to binding, but with gilt well-preserved on both spine and front cover. Joints and hinges a bit weak, with rear hinge starting to crack slightly. Very good or better, but looks nearly fine. The first printing of the first edition, with strong gilt on the binding. Eighteen thousand copies of the first edition were issued, divided equally between the first and second printing. In the first printing, as here, the paragraph near the bottom of page 135 concludes with: "...the scarcity of this date." The second printing concludes with: "...the scarcity of 1903 O."
