Scotland, North of Scotland Bank Ltd 1.3.1934 P-S641 PCGS Very Fine 30 20 Pounds
A very difficult type and denomination from issue. While 20 Pounds might not seem like a lot of money these days, back in the 1930s it represented multiple days' wages for the average laborer. As a result, very few of these were saved and these notes have become very scarce. This one still retains most of its original color and is complemented by excellent eye-appeal. The paper is crisp and fresh, and it would make for the perfect type note of this popular bank. A survey of auction records of the past decade reveals very few offerings above VF20 at public auction.
