ABBASID: Ibrahim, 817-819, AV dinar (4.26g), NM (Iraq), AH202, A-D225, Bernardi-108, with "alif" above and "M" below reverse field, the first and last letters of the name Ibrahim, who ruled at Madinat al-Salam in opposition to al-Ma'mun from Muharram 202 until late in 203, nice strike, choice VF, RRR. The only other known specimen was published by Heinrich Nützel in Berlin in 1898, the sole specimen known to Bernardi. Cf. Ibrahim silver dirham, type A-E225, the following lot at this auction.
