ILKHAN: Uljaytu, 1304-1316, AE fals (4.49g), Sultaniya, AH713, A-2190B, Diler-446, 'adl-i shahr-i sultaniya around obverse, tali'-i sal-i 'aqrab sana 713 around reverse, cast fabric, resembling contemporary Yuan dynasty chinese cash but without central hole, some corrosion, Fine to VF, RRR. A commemorative type issued in conjunction with the dedication of the new capital of Sultaniya, northwest of Qazwin and recently restored by the Islamic governnment of Iran. The reverse Persian text means "fortune of the year of the scorpion, year 713". The text transliteration for lot #699 in our auction #14 was incorrect.
