PERSIA, Achaemenid Empire. temp. Xerxes I to Darios II. Circa 485-420 BC. AR Siglos (13mm, 2.34 g). Contemporary imitation. Persian king or hero, wearing kidaris and kandys, quiver over shoulder, in kneeling-running stance right, holding spear and bow / Incuse punch. For prototype, cf. Carradice Type IIIb, Group A/B (pl. XII, 17). Lightly toned, rough surfaces, pitting. VF.
