MAXIMI ANVS AVG, laureate head right / HERCVLI DEBELLAT, Hercules and the Lernaean Hydra: Hercules standing left, holding a club overhead and grasping one of the heads of the Lernaean Hydra with its main body wrapped around his leg. RIC VI –; King 2a corr. = Aretusa 4, lot 670 (Æ; bust type). Earthen dark brown patina, rough. Fine. Very rare.
