HANOVER. George III. 1760-1820. CU Halfpenny (28mm, 8.27 g, 5h). Contemporary imitation/evasion. Dated 1774. Laureate and cuirassed bust left / Britannia seated left on globe, holding branch and scepter; garnished shield to right. Cf. CGCC – (but cf. CH 1774B-1-CH 1774B-13 for other imitations of same date). Brown surfaces, spots of green, flan flaw on reverse. Good VF. An attractive imitation.
