PLANTAGENET. Henry II. 1154-1189. Silver plated PB Electrotype Medal (40mm, 49.31 g, 6h). The Kings and Queens of England. By J. Dassier. Struck 1731. Crowned, helmeted, and armored bust right, seen from behind / Mars seated facing before a decorated monument, holding Nike in right hand, amidst a pile of arms. Cf. MI 3; cf. Eimer 5 (for original). Toned, bumps, edge marks. Good VF.

The heavy weight of this specimen, combined with a few breaks in the plating displaying a dull gray metal, suggest that the core of this piece is lead. The edge marks on the silver plating are likely obscuring the edge seam, where the two halves of the electrotype would have been attached.
