Cyprus, uncertain mint AR Stater. Circa 450 BC. Cow standing to right, suckling calf standing to left below; eagle flying to right above, ankh with facing head of owl in upper portion to right / Bull standing to right, head facing; plough above, facing head of owl below; all within shallow incuse square. SNG BnF 440 (Cilicia) = M. Amandry, "Acquisitions récentes des monnaies chypriotes au Cabinet des Médailles" in Cahier 17 (1992), plate II, 5; Leu 50, lot 216 (same dies); Triton XVI, lot 534 (same). 10.78g, 24mm, 12h.

Good Fine; heavily corroded. Of the highest rarity, one of perhaps five known examples (of which one is in the Bibliothèque nationale de France).
