The location of the original of this coin appears elusive; Rory Naismith's paper 'A New Type for Æthelberht II of East Anglia' gives the locations for the three existing examples of this type as the British Museum, the Huntarian Museum and the National Museum of Wales. The British Museum example is pictured in this article and is decidedly not the prototype for our coin here, however the online catalogues of both the Huntarian and the NMW do not provide us with the image we would need to definitely match the prototype for this exceptionally rare type.
