Japan Greater Japan Imperial National Bank, Yokohama 2 Yen ND (1873) Pick 11 PMG Very Fine 25. An eye appealing Yokohama Branch #2 example from the first National Bank issue, this type was printed by the Continental Banknote Company in New York. The face of this 2 Yen features vignettes of the 14th century warriors Kojima no Takanori and Nitta no Yoshisada. The back features a central vignette of the Imperial Palace in Tokyo flanked by the 1870 2 Yen gold coin. This is a highly desirable example in this grade, as no examples above a Very Fine 30 are registered in the PMG Population Report. Comments of splits and rust are annotated on the holder. https://currency.ha.com/itm/world-currency/japan-greater-japan-imperial-national-bank-yokohama-2-yen-nd-1873-pick-11-pmg-very-fine-25/a/4030-26433.s?type=CoinArchivesCurrency4030 HID08706262019 © 2020 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
