Sri Lanka Central Bank of Sri Lanka 10; 50 (2); 100; 1000 Rupees 1987 (3); 1989 (2) Pick 96pd; 98pd (2); 99pd; 101pd Five Printer's Design Specimen PMG Superb Gem Unc 67 EPQ (2); Gem Uncirculated 66 (2); Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. Four denominations from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka's inaugural banknote set are offered in this lot. Curiously, this is among the last series of notes printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Company. They were purchased by Thomas de la Rue in 1986 and formally ceded all operations to TLDR by 1990. This set was originally printed by BWC, but subsequently overprinted by TDLR at a later time. Hole punched cancellations and red overprints are easily seen.
