British Medals, John Pitt (1756-1835), 2nd Earl of Chatham (succeeded 1778), a warrant of payment of a pensions on the Civil List, following the death of William Pitt, Jr., drawn up by Thomas Coutts, for payments from "His Majestys Treasure", 26th October – 3rd November, 1806; the payment to "the Earl of Chatham & Bishop of Lincoln", each £300; and in trust, "Lady Lucy Rachel Taylor and Lady Griselda Tekell" each £150, "for one quarter of the year ended 10 October 1806 on their Pensions of £600 p. ann each", signed by [Sir] Watkin Williams Wynn, with note "Camden may pay this Order out of 4 ½%", part printed, part handwritten, watermarked paper [W. The document names: John Pitt: elder brother of William Pitt Jr., who had died on 23 January, 1806; Lady Griselda Tekell, née Stanhope (1778-1851): married in 1800 to John Tekell; 2nd daughter of Charles Stanhope, 3rd Earl Stanhope and Lady Hester, née Pitt, sister of John and William Pitt Jr.; Lady Lucy Rachel Taylor, née Stanhope (1780-1814): 3rd daughter of Charles Stanhope, 3rd Earl Stanhope and Lady Hester, née Pitt, who had caused a scandal by eloping with Thomas Taylor – they were married 26 April 1796 (their elder sister, Lady Hester Lucy Stanhope (1776–1839), the famed adventurer and traveller, had been granted a separate pension of £1200 a year).; The Bishop of Lincoln - Sir George Pretyman Tomline, Bt.
