British India. Victoria Original Proof Rupee 1891-B PR65+ NGC, Bombay mint, KM492, S&W-6.120. An absolute gem of an original Proof from the iconic Rupee series of British India. This particular specimen is veiled in a deeply patinated surface imbued with a prevalent glossy iridescence, most dramatic to the fields of the reverse as bold cerulean and indigo tinged with light golden undertones decorates the ornate and crisply rendered foliage. NGC notes this as the only original example it has certified, with none witnessed by PCGS, and a wholly desirable one at that.
