Diameter: 58mm. By Hoez. Obverse: Locomotive emerging from tunnel; rising sun in background; in foreground, olive tree with winged caduceus and shield of Chile and Argentina bound together; Reverse: Legend in eight lines over olive branch. Commemorating the arrival of the Chilean delegates to negotiate peace, this charming example also offers the foreshortened imagery of a train--another collecting interest. The silvering is mottled in areas and, for completeness, a collector's number (likely 442) is inked just above the date on the reverse.
