GREAT BRITAIN. Maundy Set (4 Pieces), 1901. London Mint. Victoria. CHOICE UNCIRCULATED.
S-3943. A charming quartet from the final year of Victoria's reign, with each piece presenting great brilliance and differing aspects to their toning. The 4 Pence exhibits a mix of goldenrod and cobalt, while the 3 Pence is mostly argent with some peripheral burnished tinges; meanwhile, the 2 Pence is a deep cobalt in color, almost electrifyingly so, and the Pence offers a central argent nature with a great deal of golden-olive toward the edges. All housed in a black Royal Mint case, with an engraved bronze plaque on the lid reading "Great Britain / Maundy Silver" in Old English.
Estimate: $100.00- $200.00
