INDIA. World War I Fallen Soldier Uniface Bronze Medal, ND (ca. 1920). AS MADE.
Diameter: 120mm; Weight: 331.79 gms. Inscribed "Bagh Ali" and awarded to his next-of-kin. Obverse: Britannia standing right, holding trident and presenting wreath to inscribed plaque; above, two dolphins around; below, British lion standing right. Yellow-bronze surfaces, with some scattered marks on the reverse.

According to Helles Memorial and World War I Indian Soldiers, p. 67, "...Bagh Ali, son of Dulla Khan, was from Nala Musalmanan, Kahta, Rawalpindi, Punjab and served as a Driver for the Indian Mountain Artillery. His service number is 1245. He died on the 11th of August 1915. His name can be found on the Helles Memorial in Turkey on the panel 254."
