UNCERTAIN. 5th century BC. AR Obol (9mm, 0.69 g). Gorgoneion facing / Incuse punch. Cf. CNG E-205, lot 220. Patches of find patina, light porosity. VF. Apparently very rare.
The CNG E-205 was tentatively attributed to Cilicia, but this is unlikely. The style of the obverse here closely resembles that of CNG E-380, lot 275, where the reverse features a horse forepart leaping right within an incuse square. That coin was attributed to an uncertain mint in Asia Minor, but such an issue could plausibly come from a mint in Greece.
