Laureate, draped, [and cuirassed] bust right / Warrior with head left, stepping right from land to prow of galley, holding shield and beckoning others to follow. BMC 384; SNG von Aulock –; SNG Copenhagen 1804 (same dies). Dark green and brown patina, light obverse roughness, area of weak strike on reverse. VF.
The reverse possibly depicts Ancaeus, the son of Poseidon and king of Samos. He was also an Argonaut.
