Israel - "TERMINAL 3 - THE NEW GATEWAY TO ISRAEL" 2004 Medal - Silver 925, 49 grams, 50 m"m
Official Medal, Limited Edition (800 Units)
Terminal 3 at BenGurion International Airport, Tel Aviv, one of the most modern and beautiful facilities worldwide, opened to travelers in November 2004. Comprising 3 concourses and 24 aircraft parking gates, the terminal complex is Israel's largest-ever infrastructure initiative. In addition to a new runway, an energy supply center, and support facilities, the terminal has a 40,000 sq. m. commercial area which houses shops, restaurants, and banks as well as a circular duty-free area designed to provide an unobstructed view of the commercial area to all outgoing passengers. An underground railway station will enable passengers to travel between Tel Aviv and the terminal in 10 minutes. This beautiful medal is being issued to mark the opening of the new terminal complex.
Obverse: On one side appears the Control Tower and part of the terminal along with a tiny profile of David Ben Gurion and the phrase "From Dream to Reality" as well as the logo of Israel Airports Authority.
Reverse: On the second side is a diagram of the terminal and a quote from the Psalms, "The Skies are Yours, the Earth Also".
